I'm Chels. I blog about science, art, tennis, and my adventures in journalism. Officially, I'm a Science Writer at Brookhaven National Lab and I blog for them, too. Unofficially, I'm pretty awesome.

Or, you know, owsome.

Arches National Park was such a dream. I’ve wanted to go for ages, and even though I was completely beat by the time I got there, I still had enough energy to do some short walks and take it in. The color of the land is totally unreal. Red like nothing else I’ve seen before. And the rock formations…just, how? How is that rock balancing like that? How are the arches not falling apart? I was in awe the whole time. I’m glad I got to put my feet in that place and stand and be amazed for a few hours.
