Update on the Brookhaven Zoo: We have turtles. Look at this dude. He looks so ancient, like he’s carrying all the secrets of the world under his shell. One of our photographers saw this guy wandering around the lab site and snapped this photo. I guess he’s an Eastern Box Turtle, but with those red eyes, let’s just call him Evil Ernie. Thing is, though, even if he is a little scary looking, it’s not like he’s going anywhere fast, so I’m not really worried. I’ll take turtles over turkeys any day.
